TALIS-2018 research of school teacher’s work results.

“The contemporary policy in the field of education has a positive effect on Russian teachers’ community as the vast majority of teachers are generally satisfied with their job. Nevertheless, there is a range of urgent problems that remain over the last five years” – that’s a quotation from the first part of TALIS-2018 (Teaching and Learning International Survey) summary report.

The study was conducted as an online survey for school teachers and principals. The objective was to find out what changes are occuring in school from a teacher’s point of view. In Russia more than 4000 teachers and principals from 230 schools in 14 regions participated in TALIS.

According to the results most of them are satisfied with their profession, as 91% of them are generally satisfied with their work and 90% are happy to work at their current school, and moreover 86% consider it to be a right place to get quality education. Another positive finding is that the amount of teacher’s paperwork has become less over the last 5 years, but still, unfortunately, remains among the highest throughout participating countries.
